Making connections between faith and media. |
One of my favorite things to do is to talk with my family and friends about the movies we've seen, the music we enjoy, and the books we've read. Inevitably, we talk about how our faith has been affected by experiencing these different mediums or how our faith affects our experience of them. In the spirit of these (usually late-night) conversations, I have asked some of the people I know and love to write their thoughts and observations here, to share with any who care to browse, contemplate, and discover God between the lines. --Teresa |

Alien 3: Ripley as a Christ Figure? by Teresa |
Author Profiles/Statements |
Liao, TeresaI've had the incredibly boring and blessed life of growing up in a Christian home. Of course, it's actually far from boring, but I certainly feel very lucky to have had the sort of upbringing that has taught me to place Christ first in everything I do. Thus, this website was born out of that early training, the question that has been embedded in my brain from my years of Mom reading my Sweet Valley Twins books and watching Beverley Hills 90210 with me: where does God fit into this? That question has been at the heart of much of what I've done with my life. I attended Oral Roberts University and graduated with a BA in English Education because I wanted to make sure I understood how God fits into education. I attended California State University East Bay and graduated with an MA in English Literature because I wanted to be able to better analyze literature in order to find God in between the lines of each page. Now, I teach high school English because I find God hiding in the corners of my students' lives. And, of course, I've started this website because I want to share with others the loving God that is tucked away in the things we watch, listen to, and read every day. |
