Yikes! I have truly neglected my website this past year. I've got a lot of work to do to catch up, but I figured the first thing on my to-do list should be fixing the links that you can now (finally) see on the left again. I never did figure out what went wrong with the flash buttons I had, but rather than waste a bunch of time trying to figure it out, I've gone the old fashioned route and just stuck in regular old links. At least that way we can all navigate around my site again.

I've also added a new blog for book reviews. It was actually a little too much work to do the book reviews with the template I was using. The blog format will give me ease of use, and with the tag feature, you should still be able to search by title, author, subject, or genre.

I've also added a blog for my crochet and knitting. I took up crochet again about two years ago as a bunch of my friends were having babies, and I wanted to make blankets for them. Then, I discovered all the other cool stuff you could crochet, and I was hooked. (Pun intended.) As I browsed the internet for free patterns, I realized that there were a lot of cute patterns for knitted garments and figured that I'd better learn to knit as well. So now, any time I'm not at work, in my sewing studio, or reading a book, I'm knitting or crocheting. After that, it was only a matter of time before I devoted a blog to my progress.

In the meantime, I've finished two costumes that I have not made webpages for yet. I'm almost done with a third and have started on a fourth. I know. I know. I need to get on that. Unfortunately, I'm teaching summer school this year, so it may take a while for me to catch up. I WILL get those pages done before the end of the summer, though, so stay tuned.

Woohoo! Dreamweaver is up and running again. So, an update is in order.

Summer Sky has been on hold a bit, but I still aim to get it done before Costume College.

I made a quick 1795 Open Robe out of IKEA curtains.

Now, I'm working on my Firefly costume, though I haven't updated that page much yet.

I've already started my next project, the Summer Sky Natural Form Day Dress, and I've been good so far about documenting my progress. No pictures yet, because I haven't gotten that far, but pattern and fabric descriptions as well as a write up about my first couple of bodice mock ups. I'll work on getting some pictures tonight, at least of the fabric. I'll also be working on what I hope to be my last bodice mock up.

Okay, so the Dreamweaver solution hasn't been much of a solution. I'm having a problem connecting via FTP, which isn't supposed to be an issue with the version of OS that I have, so I'm not sure how so resolve it. Anyway, that means I'm stuck uploading every file individually. Not too bad except when it comes to all the images.

At any rate, I've posted the page on my CC26 Historical Masquerade dress, which I can finally reveal. I've even gone through all the hastle of uploading all the thumbnails AND the larger images. It's not much of a diary, but I do describe a bit of my process and also go heavily into my rationale for the choices I made.

My first update of the new year and I can't share any of it. Well, at least I can now inform you that I have Dreamweaver installed on my new laptop and can update regularly again. Yay!

My current project is a top secret masquerade entry for CC26. Very hush, hush. So, although I'm working on a page for it, I won't be posting the page until after Costume Con. If I manage to get anything else sewn for the con, I'll be sure to post updates here.
